If you want extra comfort, size up. I usually take S when I buy Kyodan - Kyodan’s S is equivalent to an M or size 8 for more traditional brands like Lululemon and L.L. Bean - so that’s what I ordered and the fit is perfect. But if you want it to be oversized or extra comfortable, go up a size. And cosy it is. I’d definitely buy a second one because this one is going to get lots of wear.
I got it on sale. The regular price is high for what it is. I like Kyodan because it’s local, and wouldn’t mind paying more if it was locally made, but almost everything they sell is made elsewhere so I’m not sure the price is justified.
