Kyodan (“Kyodan”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the https://www.kyodan.ca/ website and related services (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information, and the choices you have.

We primarily serve Canada and selected international destinations (see Shipping Policy). We do not ship to the United States from kyodan.ca.

We collect information directly from you, automatically, and from service providers.
Information you provide

6) International transfers

7) Retention
We keep personal information as long as necessary for the purposes described above, including:

Orders/returns/tax records: typically up to 7 years (or longer if laws require).

Marketing: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in our messages, or contact us at hello@kyodan.ca. (Transactional emails will still be sent for your orders.)
Cookies: Adjust browser settings and/or use our [Cookie Settings] tool.
Access, correction, deletion (Canada/Québec): You may request access to or correction of your personal information. Québec and Canadian residents can also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
EEA/UK (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing). You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
We may verify your identity before responding.
9) Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10) Children’s privacy
Our Service is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor provided information, contact support@kyodan.ca and we will delete it.
11) Third-party links
Our Service may link to third-party sites/apps we don’t control. Review their privacy policies—our policy does not apply to them.
12) Payments
We use third-party payment processors. We do not store full card details. Their use of your data is governed by their privacy policies. Current processors include:

If you select a “buy now, pay later” option (e.g., Afterpay), that provider acts as a separate controller and will present its own terms and privacy policy.
13) Contests & giveaways
If you participate in a promotion, we process your entry information as described in the Contests & Giveaways rules (e.g., social handles/content, eligibility checks, winner administration). Some promotions may have additional terms that supplement this policy.
14) Region-specific notices
Do Not Track (CalOPPA): Some browsers send a DNT signal; we currently do not respond to DNT.
International orders (EU/UK/AU/NZ, etc.): We ship DDU (Delivered Duties Unpaid). Customs authorities/carriers may process your personal information for import clearance and local delivery under their own policies.
15) Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and update the effective date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice (e.g., on-site banner or email, where appropriate).
